Requirements to Study at a Japanese Language School from Bangladesh

Studying in Japan through a language school is a great opportunity—and the best part is, the entry requirements are realistic and suitable for many Bangladeshi students, especially those from middle-class families.

Student visa requirements for Japan

  • Academic Qualification
    • Minimum 12 years of education (SSC + HSC)
    • Preferred: GPA 2.5+ in both exams
    • Education gap should be explained (acceptable if justified with valid reasons)
  • Passport & Required Documents
    • Valid passport
    • Academic certificates (Marksheet, Certificate and Registration card of SSC, HSC)
    • Birth certificate and NID
    • Family documents
    • Photographs (as per requirement)
    • Sponsor documents: job/business certificate, income proof, bank documents
  • Financial Sponsor
    • You need a financial sponsor (usually a parent or guardian)
    • The sponsor should have:
      • A bank balance of around 15 to 16 lakh BDT (to cover tuition and living)
      • Regular income documents (job/business proof)
      • Bank statement (last 6 months) and 3-years tax documents
  • Japanese Language Proficiency (Optional but Preferred)
    • Basic Japanese language knowledge is an advantage
    • Not mandatory, but completing a short Japanese language course in Bangladesh shows your seriousness and improves visa approval chances

Job visa requirements for Japan – SSW, TI and International / High Skill

  • Technical Intern (TI) Program
    • Must be at least 18 years old
    • Minimum educational requirement: HSC or equivalent
    • Basic Japanese language proficiency (JLPT N5 or higher)
    • Good health and no criminal record
    • Commitment to complete the training program in Japan
  • Specified Skilled Worker (SSW) Program:
    • Must be at least 18 years old
    • Relevant work experience or vocational training in the required industry
    • Japanese language proficiency: JLPT N4 or JFT (A2 Level)
    • Pass skills assessment and technical exam in the relevant field
    • Good health and no criminal record
  • International / High Skill job Visa Program
    • Age: 18 years or older
    • Education: Graduation; technical training preferred
    • Work Experience: Relevant experience in the job field
    • Japanese Language: Basic Japanese preferred; higher proficiency is advantageous; some positions accept English-speaking candidates
    • Job Offer: Must have a valid offer from a registered Japanese employer
    • Health & Conduct: Good health and clean criminal record
    • Adaptability: Willingness to follow Japanese work culture and regulations
